For this project I primarily used Photoshop to draw in. I laid out the frame work for image by first sketching in Photoshop, refining the sketch, then adding basic color behind the line work. I then added added shadow(multiply), and high lights. I put dark silhouettes at the front of the image to create a feeling of depth. I also added texture by overlapping photographs on the picture.
I chose this particular imagery to illustrate the continuous standoffs between the monkey and his rivals. I added darts sticking out of his back to further emphasize the scene I was trying to relay. I also added houses in the background the show that the monkey lived near human beings.

ReplyDeleteGreat job, this is what I like to see lots of detail, and great effort put into the project, I am finding it hard to point out flaws. So I will point out one, I think it lacks movement, its too still, like there is no life in either character. The hunter seems only half hearted, and the monkey while seemingly happy, is more frozen in time.

ReplyDeleteI like the colors, but it seems almost too dark. The monkey and trapper stand out a lot, and almost appear to have spotlights on them, yet the leaves and grass are rather dark and almost flat.

ReplyDeleteGreat choice in color. I admire the backdrop as well because I would not have the patience to make that tree/forrest biome. You could never go wrong with fireflies!
