For this project I decided to go with The Great Gatsby. I used the blob brush with the entire project. I wanted to go with a sketchy kind of look. The very first book cover is my interpretation of the book. It's really simple depiction of Gatsby and Daisy.
The second is a children's book. In the book Gatsby is trying to win over Daisy with his grand parties and fortune. Gatsby is a magician for everything is an illusion. So I decided to make the characters hide behind costumes. Daisy is a lady bug and Gatsby is an magician.
The third design is a mystery book. I wanted to hide Gatsby's identity so I left him as a silhouette. He is smoking a pipe and inside the smoke is some things that describe his personality.

Great use of typographic elements. I like the last one because it's very mysterious.
ReplyDeletevery cool, nice colors, very interesting.
ReplyDeleteAll three are really great, your color choice is awesome in every one. The last image has a really nice design you created with the smoke I like it a lot!
ReplyDeleteI like the sketchy feel of these. the colors are nice too. The fonts used for the titles work well. :)
ReplyDeleteI think I really like the mystery the best. I love the ideas coming up out of the smoke(at least that is how I view it). I like the shadowed figure and the color choices of all three book covers. Good job.
ReplyDeleteGreat job at your covers!
ReplyDeleteI liked this novel and saw the Modern movie adaptation, My favorite is your Mystery cover version, Dark yet still Gatsby'ish like all of your covers ..good job
ReplyDeleteI like the colors in the first one, I like how simple it is. the lettering is really cool too.
ReplyDeleteI like the second one. Very playful.
ReplyDeleteThe mystery book really fits the genre well. I like the silhouette idea because it leaves you in wonder, but then the smoke sort of gives you clues.
ReplyDeleteThese are very well done and creative, you did a very nice job with the blob brush too, really nice to look at.
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of the the first cover and how you drew the title out by hand and the sketchy flowers at the top are a nice touch. The characters you drew in the second cover are very cute :)
ReplyDeleteGreta covers. I especially like the color scheme you went with on these.
ReplyDeleteI like the colors on the first cover. However, the text is very hard to read.
ReplyDeleteThey look great, I really like the styling in them.
ReplyDeleteWhile I see its good work, and well, done, and it does fit into the books. I am however not a fan, but thats a personal preference. I still hold that it is good, and i like the craftsmanship of the third cover in particular. I just feel that they might be pushed a little further, with some extra detail.
