There is still a lot I want to fix about this, but I figured I'm late enough as it is. Clearly this is a reference to the monkey as Vernon's white whale, and I took inspiration from different covers of Moby Dick I found. I meant to add a little Vernon on the ship and I had trouble blending the monkey to make it appear underwater. I used mostly the blob brush, pen tool, and gradients to make this image.
You have great colors in this to begin with and your style is always so cool! Very nice job on the waves and metaphor!
