THE STAND BY STEPHEN KING
ORIGINALLY POST-APOCALYPTIC DRAMA
ALT COVERS BY C.DELANEY
WESTERN
MYSTEREY
EROTICA
Hi Guys,
This is Project 2: Genre Switching.
I throughly enjoyed reading The Stand by Stephen King. It's a great book about humans struggling to live after a deadly virus has killed most of the world population. Then the Devil + God start building armies from the survivors.
Since this was a drama book, I decided to go with 3 different genres of books = Western, Mystery & Erotica.
Each cover has it's own distinctive feel to embody their specific genre. Let me know if you feel that I have successfully re-branded this book by just changing the cover.
I used CS5 Illustrator entirely for this project.
Cheers
Constructive Criticism Welcome!!!

I love the James Bond take on the last one. But the skull and swords are cool too. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI like the last one. I like the the sun rise is straight lines, and the color scheme!
ReplyDeleteI really like the second and last one the most, I feel the rope is to photoshop, and would look better as a vector graphic. But the Erotic one is hilarious. Good work.
ReplyDeleteThey all look great, I like the second one the best just because of the very minimalist approach.
ReplyDeleteThese all look great! The first one definitely stand out! Great job!
ReplyDeleteim still a fan of the erotic one. lol i see this as a poster. awesome work
ReplyDeleteI think all three are very solid and polished looking designs. I like the soul in the background and how it is lit up a little more by the light. Great effect.
ReplyDeleteWow, nice work, I like the middle one the most with the light shining in. Good job!
ReplyDeleteThese look really amazing! I love the color use and compositions. Really great job! :)
ReplyDeleteThe first two are my favorites, good Stephen King'ish imagery great affects in the second book cover ..good job.
ReplyDeleteAll three covers are nicely done. However, I like the Erotica cover due to the choice of colors and layout. Great use of patterns and texture.
ReplyDeleteThe second cover is really awesome; the spotlight over part of the skull really catches my eye for some reason. Great job on all three!
