Monkey Illustration

When I read "The Mystery Monkey of Tampa Bay" in the story I instantly thought of this mysterious monkey in a black robe/cape lol.
So I did my best to draw a monkey. I used the Pen Tool for most of this and what wasn't done with the Pen Tool I used the Blob Brush or w.e its called. I also used the Trace Tool because I wanted a decent looking ground to place him on so once I had a very simplified version of it traced out, I then altered it some more so it fit in with the rest of the picture.

For the sky I took a sunset picture off google and used the blob brush in a new layer OVER the photo sampling colors and scribbling little sections of colors that were found in the sunset to make my own version of it for the background. I guess if anyone wants to know how I anything else just ask I try to explain it for you.

  7. Interesting idea using the live trace tool to get the skyline for Tampa added it, and that using the brush to add lots of detail, not bad, its a very well done image.

  10. I think the idea is great and you did it very well. I like how you did the sunset in the back ground and how you did just the over all style, very nicely done.
