I basically kept the style like a Saturday morning kind of cartoon in a way. For tools I mainly used the blob brush and changed the opacity. For the bottom smaller image i used the shape tool to make the bounding box and also the Beware Poo! sign. I used some pencil tool but mostly blob. For the text I used the blob brush but changed the fill and stroke color to help some of the letters pop more.
So basically I went with a video games kind of approach. I thought it was kind of funny how the article mentioned that the monkeys were known to throw poo at people or things they didn't like. So I had the idea of making a Poo Throwing game. I kind of had the whole idea of it being simple in a way... I like the messy look of it. I liked the idea of having a smaller image at the bottom since its like a preview of the actual game while the larger image is a full on illustration of it. As seen the monkey is throwing poo at some random person....
lol funny,really hit the "saturday morning cartoons" mark.

ReplyDeleteWell this certainly looks like something that would come out of Japan, I am finding it hard to relate to a US audience. Mostly as articles such the ones this is do not get the anime treatment, and while the art is not bad, I feel it might be the wrong direction.

ReplyDeleteVery nice, I like the entirety of the image… I am working my use of shading and understanding how to get things looking like this and the previous image so I really enjoy seeing the us elf shading and color in other peoples work… very good.

ReplyDeleteI love me some anime and can see that style in the guy with his eyes and even in the highlight of the hair. The loose brush strokes in the background seem like a mountain range. Even if it wasn't intentional it gives the image depth, Great Job!
