This is my rendition of Cupcake Wars. The show is a competition of bakers trying to prove to the judges that their cupcake looks and taste unique within a certain amount of time. I started with scanning it into illustrator which, made it easier for me to trace with the blob brush. The colors I chose were triad for this poster. If I had more time I wouldn't made the silverware better.
The evil cupcakes are alive and one of them is shredded. I liked the bubbly lettering so that was fun to make. I wasn't sure if I should have stuck the fork and spoon in the title. It was originally suppose to be on the cupcakes. With the background I made a billion tiny dots.
Thats a great message. Many cupcakes are made by machines thus no love.
ReplyDeleteLike your color choice a lot. The cupcakes really contrast against the yellowish frosting and the blue. I would say maybe change purple frosting one to match the others, other than that I really like your concept and the text is really nice! My favorite cupcake is the middle one :)
ReplyDeleteWhile I like the style, and the overall design I fell it could do with some brightness. Over all Its a little too dark. I get that it might have been going for a horror theme, but even horror has bright colors from time to time.
ReplyDeleteThis concept is really funny and turned out really well. The typography works well with the design and the cupcakes faces are hilarious. There is good detail within line variation, and the color scheme fits the scenario. I also think that the background would have been boring if you didn't add the white dots or stars in the background. Good Job.

ReplyDeleteI think the colors of the cupcakes and lettering could be brightened just a bit, to make them stand out a bit more from each other and from the background, especially the purple lettering and frosting as the background is also purple.

ReplyDeleteI think it came out nice and the cupcakes look really cute too. It's definitely the opposite of my Cupcake Wars poster lol. The color scheme is nice too and it makes the cupcakes pop out.
