First let me explain.
These propaganda posters are based off an episode from Dr.Who. In the episode, The Doctor must free a space whale from the torture of the remaining descendants of the United Kingdom traveling on it's back. The UK government has been torturing this space whale to make it travel to their whims.
Anyway, these are posters convincing the UK citizens to continue the torture in order to maintain the british empire.
A fellow classmate (Jayln) had posters protesting the enslavement of the space whale; so I took the opposing argument for keeping the whale enslaved.
Poster #1 = Stay The Course
This poster has a simple message; keep the torture of the whale's brain in order to continue finding a replacement earth. I kept a triadic color scheme to the tune of subtle red, yellow & blue. I have been concepting this poster for a while and I am happy with how it turned out.
Poster #1 = Control & Survive
This poster had an analogous color scheme of Red, Blue & Pink. For this poster I wanted to show what the space whale actually looks like. I had fun working on the british flag on the metal saddle of the space whale.
Let me know what you guys think and constructive criticism is always welcome.

I really like these! I really like the first one a lot, the colors are nice and I like the text. I think it's a great rebuttal :)
ReplyDeletereally well done. great rebuttal.
ReplyDeleteWow. These both look great. I love the electric beam shooting down into the brain. I love the colors chosen. They stand out well. The city scape also looks particularly awesome. Very well done. I really like the logo and slogan on the bottom of each.
ReplyDeleteNice rebuttal, I think they're both really well executed, only critique I really have is that maybe the bottom one is a little busy with all of the space stuff happening in the back? Other wise the brain idea in your top poster with the blue lightning coming down looks awesome. Nice job.
ReplyDeletelove your 2nd one, the image pulls you in and makes you want to read.
ReplyDeleteYour posters came out really nice, the colors definitely work well together and I love the space background on the second one. It looks really good.
ReplyDeleteI really like the work you put into the first one, although i feel the text could use some tightening up. As for the second, while I like the idea, I feel that you might have done a different text set, and a better background for it. Perhaps move the text out of the basic background and into a solid color field as you did for the bottom of the poster. Still good solid work.
ReplyDeleteGood color scheme on the first poster. Although it sort of has a bubblegum feel to me, the colors really pulse. Great work!
