Poster Rebuttal

For the first two I used mainly the pen tool to create everything. I decided to try something different for me and do a heavy stroke that outlines everything with the insides being a very fine line to try and give a bolder look. The last one I used images to get the basic outlines for the Mario bros. and for Bowsers head. I used the pen tool to trace the images and the used a combination of pen tool and shape tool to create the shell and arms.
The first poster is a direct opposite of one that I saw online. the second one is an idea I had while I was working on the first one. They are both referencing the piranha plants that pop up from the pipes in the game.
the last one I wanted to depict the Mario bros. on top of the conquered Bowser. I wanted Bowser to be a lot larger than the brothers to depict that even the smallest heros can defeat a larger threat.

  1. All of these poster look great but my favorite is the 2nd poster. Maybe, you could work with the type a little bit so it doesn't cover up the flower.

  4. All three look amazing. The concept is great as well as the skills in illustrator. They look just like war posters should. I love the colors. Awesome job!

  5. These are amazing. I agree that the type in the second one gets a little lost in the image. But overall excellent work. I think these should be printed on shirts and sold at every Gamestop in America.

  7. Like these images and how you decided to dim down the images a little not so bright and vibrant..but still very stylized good work….

  8. I like the style you have used on all three, but the Third one is the best of them. I feel more time and effort was put into it, and it shows with your consideration on the text. Its the only one where the text is not on top of any other elements on the main poster. Great work.

  9. All three posters all well done but I believe the third poster has the most detail. I like how the characters actually don't have much line variation. It makes the piece look sort of like a comic. Great work! It is different from the last.
