I choose to re-do Dylans California Poster, his was very well done and looked a lot like a professional vacation pamphlet. So I decided to express one of the reason why I would never move to California, and the one thing I think about every time I go to visits… Earth Quakes! When ever we are in the car driving to visit California, I cant help but to ask myself ..” Is there going to be an earth quake..?” As my luck would have ..when the big one does hit I’m sure I’ll be there visiting Disneyland or SeaWorld one of those attractions ..I’m sure of it. kinda funny kinda serious take on why not to go to California.
For extra credit .. I choose Sebastians version of getting down on Mario… so I went with a Mario Campaign poster..”MARIO for President ? … Why not could n’t do much worse than what we have now.
Good work on the California poster. Although, it seems that the bottom portion is under utilized.
ReplyDeleteReally nice on the Cali poster, probably my favorite one out of the two. The mario one's nice too I think it looks a little flat though. For a second just the way the hand looked on the bottom sunshine guy I thought he was flipping us off :P ha.
ReplyDeleteI like the California Poster, more than the Mario one. I coloring and style of it is better, a;though I am not sure what is going on with the US map in the background. I also feel it could use more dramatic text, also the stroke is not helping, makes it a little comical for me.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Mario one I feel its a little flat, I would like to see more detail, but its pretty good.
These are both well done. I think the California one is much more finished looking than Mario. The jet streams from the stars could be smoother but I love the look on Donkey Kong's face! Great work!
ReplyDeleteConsidering that the first poster is the contradicting idea of what I created, I think it turned out good. The idea behind it fits todays current events and could be posted on Facebook. The thermo coloring within the map also adds to the piece. Another thing that made the poster stand out was having the state of California bigger than the rest of the states. It adds emphasis to that area. The only think I would play around with would be the placement of your wording.

ReplyDeleteThe California poster, there is a lot of empty space on the bottom. You could have done "10.0 is coming" on a single line, rather than on three separate lines, and it would probably visually fill up that space without you having to add anything else.
ReplyDeleteThe Mario poster seems rather unfinished. Most of the colors are also rather bright, which doesn't give the viewer's eyes a chance to rest unless they look away. Also, if you're going to do fully saturated complimentary colors for text like that, make the stroke a bit thinner, so the two colors aren't fighting with each other for visual control.
