  1. I never read the Great Gatsby, but I'm sure if you wrote it, I'd read it based on these ideas!

  4. I think your sketches are nice and whimsical, But i am not sure what your themes are. Romance? Mystery? Mythic? either way, I will wait and see what extra detail you provide.

  5. I like the last one the best even though it is less finished and more of a rough sketch. I think it's because I liked the part of Gatsby when they were happy in love best. But I like the city scape, that looks really well done. Very intriguing.

  6. The first image provided I believe is more powerful. You get the point across and it seems to have a side of humor to it.

  9. I have no idea what these covers are about. There's nothing to point anything towards any genres. The first two wouldn't work at all, ignoring the content, because of the landscape layout. Include more information about what the sketches are and what your ideas are, and refine your ideas a bit more. These may be work sketches, but there's almost nothing to comment on.

I would never have known these were for The Great Gatsby had someone else here in the comments hadn't mentioned it.

  10. I like the first and last ones. The first one has great details and I like how the picture is slanted a little. I also like your idea for the last one its simple and sweet.

  12. I really like the concept of the second one. It will be interesting to see how the final cover turns out! Although I am unclear of the genres for the last two.

  13. Not sure I understand or relate to the last illustration… but I loved Great Gatsby and I see some very cool symbolism in the first two sketches…nice..

  14. Your first sketch looks the most developed and would work really well as a way to reimagine the original, but keep in mind that the other two covers should portray The Great Gatsby as different genres than what it actually is.

  15. I like the dramatic posing for the first one. Although I recommend switching the scene so its just gatsby chilling in his pool. The publishing company would never want the ending of the book to be revealed on the front cover.
