For this project I wanted it to be cartoonish so I used the blob brush. First, I scanned in my drawing and everything else was free drawn in Adobe Illustrator. I didn't plan on using purple and green in the piece, the colors just came together as I was working.

In the bottom corner as you can see is the macaque on Facebook(literally). At the bottom left is a shopper interested in a Go Monkey Go t-shirt. The clothing line was for the macaque's to use as they would swing. The poster on the street says "What Monkey's do in Tampa?". I wanted to add more people in the street wearing the Monkey t-shirts.

  1. I like this, I would just suggest adding a shadow or something on the monkey to make him more visible.

  2. I feel that this project has a nice newspaper cartoon look. It is simple but still has a sense of humor.

  5. I like the detail, such as the bricks, clothing hanging outside the building. It's a bit hard to see the monkey in the window perhaps making him a tad bit larger so he is more visible.

  6. As a cartoon I think this works, But I think you should have zoomed in more and not added the second story to the building, but rather focused more on the woman looking at the t-shirt. Over all not bad, good detail.

  8. I love the design. Maybe just a little too busy though? But the design itself is really nice.

  9. I like how the monkey is clinging to the computer in the window. I am not sure if it was symbolic but it made me think of how he is becoming more domesticated. Learning to become addicting to technology like the rest of us.

  10. Its nicely done, I like the details in it and its funny too, but maybe it could have been blown up a little more to see the smaller details. Overall its illustrated well.

  12. You hit the mark with the cartoonish feel, and the illustration is nice, I guess since I included the monkey in my illustrations, I just assumed everyone else would. I'm just having trouble fitting the illustration with the article, just a personal preference I suppose.

  13. Very cartoonish like you wanted, I like the color balance you did with the roof top and the window shades! Great idea with the shirt to show your idea and what the focus is!

  14. The monkey blends into the building a bit. But the whole this is cool, I like the monkey on the computer screen! :)

  15. I had a little trouble finding the monkey at first, but your style is really cute. However, I might suggest that you zoom in to focus on the subject a bit more.

  16. It's cartoonish, as you wanted. However, it's a bit busy all over. I have a hard time focusing on any one part for more than a few seconds before my eyes get pulled to a different part of the image.

  17. I like how colorful the image. It's not too noisy either as colors are repeated and there is a sort of harmony. I maybe would have used those same colors on the building and street just toned down.
